MARE CARE
“A Commitment to Excellence” is present at Millennium Farm at Moon Lake in all phases of horse care and customer service. The farm has been designed to be safe and efficient where mares and foals are handled, fed and teased individually in a pasture environment. Non-pregnant mares as well as early foaling mares are kept under lights early in the season. Irrigated pastures are well managed that provide year round grazing. Overcrowding of pastures and paddocks is avoided. Horses are fed and teased individually by experienced personnel in feeding pens which eliminates competitive behavior thereby reducing the risk of injuries. Horses are fed according to weight and body condition which is regularly monitored. Horses are led and are not driven as they are handled which lowers the risk of injuries. They are individually teased daily by experienced personnel which reduces the need for palpation. Our objective at Millennium Farms at Moon Lake is get your mare safely in foal and return the mare and foal to you in a healthy nutritious condition.
