Littleexpectations Filly Named Louisiana Champion
03-21-2010

Seven Seventythree, a daughter of Millennium Farms at Moon Lake stallion Littleexpectations, was recently named 2009 Champion Three-Year-Old Filly in Louisiana by the Louisiana Thoroughbred Breeders Association.

Bred in the Pelican State by Ryder River Ridge Farm, Seven Seventythree won four races--all stakes--from eight starts in 2009, and $227,100. Her victories came in the $100,000 Crescent City Oaks and $75,000 Louisiana Champions Day Ladies Sprint, both at Fair Grounds, and the $75,000 Frank A. Abadie Memorial and $50,000 Salute Stakes, both at Evangeline Downs.

Campaigned by the Heiligbrodt Stable and trained by Steve Asmussen, the bay filly has now won $340,700 with six wins from 15 lifetime starts.

"We congratulate the connections of Seven Seventythree on a great season and wish them luck in 2010," said Jim Ward, D.V.M., general manager of Millennium Farms at Moon Lake. "This again is proof that Littleexpectations can sire 'the big horse', and we are proud to have him at Millennium Farms at Moon Lake. He is a great value for Louisiana breeders."
